5 Keys to hiring a new employee

Hiring new employees can be complex for many companies. At taclia, we know that the key to a business's success is, in part, the quality of its employees.

The profile of employees can determine certain external decisions, as sometimes other companies may want to invest in our business and may look at the team. Or if we are looking to expand into the international market, we must always have flexible workers available to face the challenges that may arise.

Ultimately, a company cannot move forward without a good team that possesses specific skills. Whether you intend to expand your workforce or are just starting your journey as a company, this article is for you.

We want to simplify the selection process with 5 key points that will help you find the best candidate for your needs.

1. Ask yourself what your company needs

The first thing you should consider is what your long-term goals are. Keep in mind a list of your company's strengths and weaknesses to understand what needs you have to cover, and how the new employee can help you.

To grow your business and retain the best talent, you should attract people who align with your work philosophy and the values that define your company. Take time to think about what you are looking for and when you start considering what profiles you need, think about the type of training you require from the employee, what added value they can provide, what qualities stand out, among other aspects you believe are essential to you.

2. Post a job offer tailored to your company

Once you have a clear idea of the profile you need for your company, draft a job offer that accurately reflects what you are looking for and what you can offer. This ensures that candidates applying for the position have a detailed and precise understanding of the information you provide.

If you are honest about the candidate's responsibilities and working conditions, it will be easier to find the right person for your company. Keep in mind that you need to locate a motivated candidate who fits the required competencies and shares the values that represent you. Therefore, specify which area of the company you need to strengthen, the offered salary, the type of contract you will provide, etc.

At this stage, you will screen out resumes that do not meet your expectations.

3. Send an entrance test to the final candidates

Now that you have selected the finalists of the selection process, if your industry allows it, we recommend creating an access test to see which of them deserves the job. Through this test, you can assess if the candidate can manage the day-to-day operations of your company correctly. If possible, you can also request projects they have completed before to verify their level of knowledge.

Another more traditional option we suggest is to ask candidates to explain in detail their previous experience in a similar job, the tasks they performed, the difficulties they encountered, etc.

4. Ensure that the final candidate understands their role within your company

Once you have congratulated the chosen candidate, it's time to meet your new employee in person! Conduct a face-to-face interview to ensure the candidate shows real commitment to your company.

Before the interview day, prepare questions that will help you identify if you have made the right decision. Reviewing their resume again can give you ideas to highlight the most important aspects of their profile.

During the interview, be approachable while observing their gestures and way of speaking. Consider if the person is interested in the company's background and connecting with it before proceeding with the hiring. A one-on-one conversation with them will be enough to assess their profile.

Explain the tools they will need for their work and help them become familiar with them. With taclia, you will be able to create personal profiles for each employee, assign tasks, monitor in real-time the services the workers must provide, and ensure that the scheduled times are met. All of these functions are easy to use and can be managed from anywhere.

5. See if the new employee connects with the team

The final and not least important measure is the team's group connection within your company.

As you decide that the new employee should join, their first days of adaptation begin. We suggest focusing on the first week because not only should the worker have connected with you, but they should also connect with the team they will be working with.

At taclia, we strive to offer the best services by fostering good relationships among employees. Get to know the taclia team and the values that define us.
