Introduction

Hello, I'm Alejandro, a PRL technician. Today, in this webinar with taclia, I will tell you what occupational risk prevention (PRL) is and what its importance is.

What is occupational risk prevention?

The prevention of occupational hazards It is a discipline that is responsible for reducing the harm of risks in workspaces. This applies to all types of work, regardless of the number of workers or economic activity.

Workplace risk factors

  1. Security: Risks of falls, shocks, cuts, electrical issues.
  2. Industrial hygiene: Chemical handling, noise, extreme temperatures.
  3. Ergonomics: Workplace comfort, postures, load handling.
  4. Psychosocial: Compensation, job satisfaction, workload, workplace harassment.
  5. Health Surveillance: Occupational medical exams.

Importance of PRL

It is crucial to apply PRL to prevent accidents and occupational diseases that may arise from the tasks performed. In addition to ensuring the safety and health of workers, there is a legal obligation established by the Law 31/1995, which requires the application of PRL in all businesses, regardless of their size.

Consequences of not applying PRL

  • Fines: The labour inspectorate can impose fines ranging from minor to very serious, depending on the offences act.

How to apply PRL in your business

There are 4 ways to apply PRL:

  1. Own prevention service
  2. SPA (Outsider Prevention Service)
  3. Appoint a worker
  4. Take prevention personally: This is possible when you have up to 10 workers and do not carry out high-risk activities.

Recommended tool

  • Prevencion10: An interactive software from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health that facilitates the management of PRL. It allows you to upload information about the activity and tasks of the business, automatically generating the required documentation and the necessary preventive measures.

Prevention activities

  • Formations and information about risks.
  • Risk assessments.
  • Awareness campaigns.
  • Emergency simulations.
  • Area inspections.

Coordination of Business Activities (CAE)

CAE is necessary when several companies share the same workplace. PRL documentation is exchanged to avoid risks. If the CAE is not carried out, workers will not be able to access the workplace.

Required documentation

  • Concerning risk prevention.
  • Social security and other documentation required on a monthly basis.

Beyond regulatory compliance

PRL is not only a regulatory compliance. It should be seen as an opportunity to improve productivity labor and the care of workers. By implementing a good PRL, you can improve the work environment and create a safer space for everyone.

Conclusion

I hope this information will be very useful for your business. If you have any questions, we'll be happy to answer them here at taclia.
